A project in support of the Thunder Bay Food Bank and Shelter house Will be held on Sunday October 16th, 2011. Pottery Workshop on May 14th Lakehead Unitarian Fellowship 129 S. Algoma St. Drop in for a visit during the afternoon to see how bowls are made. • The 2011 Empty Bowls, Caring Hearts Dinner: A project in support of the Thunder Bay Food Bank and Shelter House. Doors Open: 5:00 p.m. Dinner Served: 6:00 p.m. $30.00 Includes a handcrafted Pottery Bowl or a Quilted Place Mat Just the meal: $15.00 Children 12 & younger: $5.00 Silent Auction of Celebrity Bowls Draw of Raffle Prizes Entertainment by: The Good News Jazz Band, and The Kam Valley Fiddlers. Dinner tickets may be purchased at: Fireweed, The Good News Cafe, George's Market and DJ's Dollar Store. Dinner tickets and Shelter House Raffle tickets are also available at the door of the Dinner. • Shelter House Raffle: Each $3.00 Raffle ticket will be entered into the draw for: 1st Prize - 1 Queen Size Hand Crafted Quilt. Suggested Retail $750.00 3rd Prize - $500.00 Cash Draw 4th Prize - $100.00 Keg Steakhouse Gift Card 5th Prize - $100.00 Caribou Restaurant Gift Card • Signed Celebrity Bowls last year included: Charlie Wilkins, Ian Tamblyn, Manitoba Hal(Hal Broland), Fred Eaglesmith, Lenny Gallant, Rita Chirelli, Halli Irwin, Stompin Tom Connors, Valerie Pringle, Patrick Sharp(Stanley Cup winner), Dr Gabor Mate, The Pyatt Brothers, Ana Popovic and Albert Cummings, Nick Moss and the Fliptops. Patrick Sharp also donated a signed photo of himself with the Stanley cup. Olivia Korkola ( young fiddler) has donated two CDs. The Empty Bowls Caring Hearts Dinner is organized by the Empty Bowls Committee and supported by community volunteers.
